Nine individuals who are suspected of specializing in kidnapping, interstate trafficking, and the purchase and sale of minors have been apprehended by the Kano State Police Command.
Usaini Gumel, the commissioner of state police, revealed this information on Thursday when presenting the suspects at the offices of the Bompai command.
He clarified that the suspects were taken into custody following a number of intelligence-driven operations that uncovered and broke up the protracted cycle of interstate trafficking syndicates that were dormant in the states of Kano, Bauchi, Gombe, Lagos, Delta, Anambra, and Imo.

Seven victims—the majority of them are minors—were freed from the grip of the terrifying criminal activity, according to Gumel.
“Our committed team of officers conducted thorough investigations, which led to the identification of these criminal networks’ operations, which had been going for over a decade,” the speaker stated.
The commissioner revealed that depending on their ages, some of the rescued youngsters, who were between the ages of three and eight, were sold for between N300,000 and N600,000.
Investigations revealed that the victim, Mohammed Ilya, who was kidnapped from Bauchi and had his name changed to Chidiebere, had just been sold in Nnewi, Anambra State, according to Gumel.
He declared that in order to guarantee the safe return and reunion of all kidnapped children with their original family members, the command would work with the state administration.
The commissioner gave the public the assurance that the command operating under his direction has implemented additional security measures to permanently eradicate the threat.
