Being a philanthropist or serving others is not about being wealthy; it is about having empathy for others’ suffering and sufficient concern for their needs.

This is why the chairman, Lagos State Park and Garages Management, Alh. Dr Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya (Mc-Oluomo) brought about an innovation to empower, support and reach out to bus drivers in Lagos by coming to their aid.

The scheme kicked off 2months ago with the team visiting different Motor Parks and Garages in Lagos. Some of the Parks and Garages already visited include Agbado Oke-Odo Branch A, B, C, D & E. Agboyi Ketu Branch A, B & C. Agege Branch A, B, C & D. Alagbaa Branch A, B, C,
Alimosho Branch A, P, K, U, F, I, E & L, to mention a few. The team engaged drivers to know the spare part(s) their vehicle needs to perform efficiently, and the item is given to the driver free of charge. They also assisted them in fixing it on the spot.

The following sets of items ready for free distribution include tyres, batteries, servicing parts, brake oils, brake pads, fire extinguishers, waste baskets, ball joints, spanners, jacks, and engine oils, to mention but a few.

Giving these parts to the bus drivers, free of charge, will make their vehicles operate better and also improve their take-home pay since they will spend less on spare parts replacement. The scheme is also a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the commercial bus drivers from the Lagos State Park and Garages Management. The chairman, Alh. Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya (Mc-Oluomo) is on a journey to assist the operators of commercial buses in Lagos towards having a smooth operation and serving Lagosians better.
More than 20 graduates were employed to supervise the empowerment scheme also monitor the distribution of spare parts without favouritism or disorderliness.
