Nigeria is one of the top ten nations in the US in terms of student population

Of the 10 countries with the most students in the US, Nigeria is the only one from Africa.

The Institute of International Education (IIE), located in Washington, released the new Open Doors Report on Monday.

Despite the foreign exchange crisis, the number of Nigerian students in the United States increased by 22.2 percent in just a single year, according to the data.

According to the data, the number of students from Nigeria climbed from 14,438 to 17,640 in the 2022–2023 school year.

According to the report, 1.06 million foreign students were admitted to US universities in the academic year, a 12% rise over the year before.
