Dr. Kingsley Kuku issued a statement on Saturday, indicating that a 60-member delegation of prominent leaders from the Niger Delta, led by Prof A.W. Obianime, a former President of Ijaw National Congress (INC), conveyed their appreciation and congratulations during their visit. The leaders emphasized the crucial role of Rivers State in the South-South region’s political landscape. They stressed the principle that an injury to one is an injury to all, and therefore, they condemn the unsettling events taking place. The leaders stand united with various responsible bodies in the Niger Delta, including PANDEF, INC, IYC, MOSIEND, MOSOP, and Ogbakor Ikwerre, in denouncing the dubious attempts at impeaching the State Governor based on alleged ‘gross misconduct’ at the State House of Assembly.

The statement strongly condemns any involvement in exacerbating the situation, considering it completely unacceptable to both them and the entire Niger Delta. It advises any individual, authority, or group contributing to the conflict to cease their actions and allow peace to prevail.
