Newcastle United could be offered the opportunity to sign top Chelsea target Victor Osimhen next summer, according to a surprising report.
Osimhen had been expected to leave Napoli permanently last summer, with links to Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and several Saudi clubs. However, no deal came to fruition before the European transfer deadline, leaving the striker in a state of uncertainty.
After Napoli brought in Romelu Lukaku, Osimhen faced the prospect of a frustrating season on the bench. However, Galatasaray stepped in, securing him on a season-long loan. While the Turkish club will attempt to make the deal permanent, persuading Osimhen to stay could prove challenging.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle are set to be offered the chance to sign the Nigerian forward when he looks for a new club at the end of the season.
Osimhen’s representatives believe that Newcastle, along with other Premier League clubs, could be interested in a high-profile move. The Magpies had scouted the 25-year-old prior to his transfer from Belgian side Charleroi to Lille in 2019, and his recent performances— including a brace against Tottenham in the Europa League— have likely caught their attention.
Although Osimhen’s previous £200k-a-week wage demands were considered too high for Newcastle, he is now earning £110k per week at Galatasaray, which aligns more closely with the club’s wage structure.
If Osimhen proves too costly or moves elsewhere, The Chronicle reports that Lille’s Jonathan David will likely emerge as a top target for Newcastle.
