Ned Nwoko, also known as Prince Chinedu Munir Nwoko, is a Nigerian lawyer, politician, and philanthropist. He was born on December 21, 1960.    Between 1999 to 2003, he served as a representative for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. He embarked on a symbolic voyage to Antarctica in January 2020 to launch a project to eradicate malaria.   He was the first black African to do so, traveling to Antarctica’s South Pole.

In the Idumuje Ugboko Kingdom in the Aniocha North Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu (Ned) Munir Nwoko was born in 1960. In Nigeria, he completed his primary and secondary school. He continued on to the United Kingdom, where the prestigious University of Keele in Staffordshire, UK, awarded him his first degree in law and history. He studied at King’s College London as well, earning an LLM in marine and business law there. Later, Ned Nwoko was summoned to Lincoln’s Inn’s English bar.  He received a D.Litt. honoris causa in letters from Commonwealth University College in Belize, North America.

Nwoko qualified as a solicitor of the supreme court of England and Wales before beginning his legal career with a brief stint at the crown prosecution service. Before founding Ned Nwoko & Co Solicitors in London, he worked at Kumars Solicitors and Pascaldiers & Co Solicitors.

Nwoko served as the secretary general of the Nigerian Legal Practitioners UK, a visiting adviser for the Citizens’ Advice Bureau in London, and a member of the Law Society of England and Wales. He had the largest black law firm in England at the height of his legal career there, and in 1995 he was named the top black attorney of African heritage in England.

After moving back to Nigeria in December 1998, Nwoko made a notable political debut when he was chosen to serve in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003.Initiation of the London and Paris Club Loans return into Nigeria was made possible in large part by Ned Nwoko. He was the author of the reports that prompted the Nigerian government to stop monthly deductions from state allocations and start refunding the States. He researched the international creditors using his law firm, Ned Nwoko Solicitors, and his company, Linas International, and found inconsistencies in loan repayments. As a result, the first loan tranches from the Obasanjo administration were refunded. In addition, he sued the federal government in court on behalf of 774 local governments to recover improper deductions, and the local governments won a $3.2 billion verdict. The Buhari administration helped Nigeria overcome its economic downturn, which resulted in the infrastructure being developed and the backlog of public servants’ salaries being paid. Because of his work, $20 billion has been returned to State and local governments. Nwoko is a participant in the stock market and has also participated on the Vision 2010 Committee. He presided over Vision 2010’s External Committee as its chairman.

The chairman of Project Tourism Africa is Nwoko. Muslim Ned Nwoko is the father of numerous kids and has six wives. He is also married to Laila Charani and Regina Daniels, two of Nigeria’s most popular and successful actresses from Nollywood.

As a philanthropist, he started a Malaria Eradication Project in January 2020 by organizing a symbolic mission to Antarctica. He was the first black African to reach the South Pole of Antarctica thanks to his initiative. Nwoko founded Idumuje ugboko’s Sports University first. It established itself as sub-Saharan Africa’s first sports university.

He has supported the development and education of young people in his district, state, and senatorial district through his organization, the Prince Ned Nwoko Foundation. Ned Nwoko is wed and has kids. He has multiple spouses, one of them is 40 years his junior. He is of legal fatherhood age. He provided $273,000 (N100M) in 2019 for the repair of deficient sections of the road connecting South Eastern Nigeria and the capital, Abuja.
