A few young women protested the EFCC. Following reports that their boyfriends had been held by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC),

They were a part of a bigger group of young Nigerians who demonstrated in the streets.

During the demonstration in Warri, Delta state, the women who claimed to be dating Yahoo Boys asked the EFCC to leave them alone.

They asserted that the money the Yahoo boys make from scams is essential to their daily existence.

In a video posted online, the young women can be seen demonstrating while carrying banners bearing diverse messages.

Days prior, 95 alleged internet scammers were detained by the anti-graft agency.

They were taken into custody as part of a sting operation on September 29 at Warri’s Adesa Ughonton and Jedda axis. More than a dozen exotic cars of various makes and types that were in the suspects’ hands were also seized.

One of the women protesting asked for her boyfriend’s release so they could spend her birthday and their child’s dedication together.
