Ndume, the Senate Chief Whip, emphasized that it’s a common practice for government officials to procure vehicles for official duties. He pointed out that the lawmakers require these vehicles. He also noted that the decision to not opt for Nigerian-made cars is due to the fact that they are assembled, not manufactured locally.

“I have a preference for Nigerian-made products, but the car companies in Nigeria primarily purchase vehicle parts and assemble them locally,” Ndume explained.
