After four years of living overseas, a mother’s emotional response to her daughter’s unexpected homecoming was captured in a heartwarming video.
The young woman, who had been living abroad for years, disclosed in the caption that she had made the decision to go back home—though she had not told her mother.
She told her brothers and father about her return, so they knew she was planning a surprise visit.
After landing in Nigeria, the woman went home and shocked her mother.
In the video which was shared online, the mother was sitting on the sofa when the daughter, who was behind her, gently tapped her.
When the mother turned and stared, at first she didn’t recognize her. However soon, puzzlement gave way to familiarity and she broke into a smile of recognition.
The mother apparently couldn’t believe her eyes as she stood up to make sure she wasn’t dreaming.
