Mohamed Salah has expressed his pride after becoming the first player in Premier League history to record double figures in both goals and assists before Christmas.
The Egyptian superstar scored twice and provided two assists in Liverpool’s thrilling 6-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, bringing his season tally to 15 goals and 11 assists in just 16 games.
While breaking this unprecedented record wasn’t a specific goal, Salah acknowledged the significance of the achievement. “I didn’t think about it before the game, but I’m glad I’ve done it,” he said. “It’s something that makes me proud, and I’ll keep working hard.”

Salah’s dazzling form has also propelled him up Liverpool’s all-time scoring charts. With 229 goals, he has surpassed Billy Liddell’s 228 to claim fourth place. Now, Salah is setting his sights on Gordon Hodgson’s 241, which would move him into third.
“It’s great to achieve this at such a big club, but the most important thing is that we won the game,” Salah said with a smile. “Wherever I end my career, I’ll always be happy with what I’ve achieved.”
