Mo Abudu, Ayo Makun, and Funke Akindele, renowned Nigerian movie producers, have emerged as the top earners in Nigeria’s film industry.
According to a list compiled by Tip Charts Africa, Mo Abudu, Funke Akindele, and Ayo Makun have collectively grossed over N1 billion through their movies.
Mo Abudu leads the pack with an impressive N1.59 billion in earnings. Following closely behind is the talented actress and producer Funke Akindele, whose movies have grossed N1.33 billion. Comedian Ayo Makun secures the third position on the list, having earned N1.25 billion through his productions.

Jade Osiberu, with N707 million, and Toyin Abraham, with N564 million, also join the esteemed group of high-grossing movie producers.
Additionally, the chart features a list of the highest-grossing Nollywood movies of all time, with Funke Akindele’s “Omo Ghetto: The Saga” claiming the top spot.
Mo Abudu’s movies, namely “The Wedding Party,” “The Wedding Party 2,” “Chief Daddy,” and “Your Excellency,” occupy the second, third, fourth, and tenth positions, respectively.
Ayo Makun’s films, “Christmas In Miami,” “Merry Men 1,” and “Merry Men 3,” rank sixth, eighth, and ninth on the list.
Ayo Makun shared his excitement about this achievement on his Instagram page, expressing his joy at being recognized alongside such esteemed female producers.
The movie star believes that being the best is a matter of choice and emphasizes that creating exceptional shows or movies is also a deliberate decision.
He adds that in showbiz, one can either strive for awards or focus on making significant financial gains in the industry.
