A study of the terms and processes governing the sale of homes under the National Housing Program has been launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
This occurs two months after the National Housing Program subscribers’ preliminary letters of allocation were rescinded by the government.
The government declared that the impacted subscribers included program participants from the first to the fourteenth batches, claiming to have reviewed the terms and processes of the house transactions.

However, the Ministry of Works and Housing said in a statement signed on Thursday by Permanent Secretary Mahmud Mamman that the review procedure is a component of the plan for new home sales and that interested parties should obtain Expressions of Interest Forms.
The announcement states that interested candidates may submit another application at any time if they were offered a provisional offer of allocation between 2022 and 2023.
The statement read, “Interested subscribers are free to reapply by completing the Expression of Interest Form if they were offered a provisional offer of allocation that expired between 10th March 2022 and 18th October 2023.”
The Ministry further announced that there is no cost for any interested subscribers to obtain the expression of interest forms from the Ministry’s offices located in all 36 states of the Federation and the FCT.
It said that the office of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Chairman is where Nigerians living abroad may obtain the Expression of Interest form.
In the 36 federal states and the Federal Capital Territory, “All interested subscribers are to obtain their Expression of Interest Forms from the office of the Federal Controllers of Housing and Urban Development at no cost.”
“Yet, the office of the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission is where Nigerians in the diaspora who wish to subscribe to the houses must obtain their Expression of Interest Forms.”
Nevertheless, there is no deadline mentioned in the declaration for gathering or submitting the Expression of Interest Form.
The Special Advisor to the Housing Minister on Media, Mark Chieshe, requested more time to supply specifics when our correspondent called him for further information, but as of the time this story was filed, he had not yet done so.
