Funmi Oguntomi Martins is Mide Funmi Martins’ mother. She was born in September in the Nigerian city of Ilesa, in the state of Osun.

Funmi spent her early years in Lagos and Ibadan before settling down in Lagos and pursuing her acting career.

After quitting her previous job as a model, Funmi decided to pursue acting full-time in 1993. In the same year, she made her debut in the film Nemesis, which was discovered by Fidelis Duker. Among the notable moves she showcased were:

Funmi Martins Death

Mide Martins’ mother died on May 6, 2002, at the age of 38, at the Oshuntuyi Medical Hospital in Lagos. Her abrupt death was caused by cardiac arrest, which occurred as a result of her rheumatic heart ailment, according to medical sources.

Funmi was in the movie “Aduro Ti Oluwa” two weeks before she died.

The actress began to feel poorly the day before her death, on May 5, 2002, while at her Iju-Ishaga mansion in Lagos. She developed sudden disorientation and was transported to an Iju hospital.

She regained her normalcy after some time and was even able to breastfeed her youngest child, whom she was breastfeeding at the time. Then the unfortunate incident occurred, followed by the second.
