Mauricio Pochettino has once again called on Chelsea fans to support him, asserting that they wouldn’t find another manager more devoted to the team in their current circumstances.

Amidst ongoing speculations about a disconnect between Pochettino and the supporters, particularly evident in chants for former manager Jose Mourinho, the Argentine emphasized the importance of winning matches to win over the fans. He urged them to grasp the long-term vision of the Chelsea project.

“This is a different project,” Pochettino explained. “It’s a different Chelsea. If you judge us by comparing it to the club’s past, no one will succeed. Fans won’t favor another coach more than [me]. It’s a new project, and people need to understand.”

Addressing the public support for Mourinho, Pochettino acknowledged his respect for the former manager and emphasized the need for perseverance and belief in the current coaching staff.

“I respect Jose. He’s my friend, and he was amazing for this club. Circumstances are circumstances. We need to keep pushing, believing in us, and accept all the things that came from the fans. Of course, I respect the fans.

“If the players believe that with another coach they’ll do better, I am the first to say, ‘Hey, they can go and talk with the owner and the sporting director.’ But do you see me worried about this? No. Is attitude a problem? No. They [the players] are clever enough; you can see in the way they behave and everything that they are behind us. There is no doubt.

“I came here because I knew that it was going to be tough but also knew we were going to need time and belief.”

Pochettino firmly rejected the idea of stepping down from his role as Chelsea manager when directly questioned, stating, “No, no, no. Why? Never.”
