Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has verified that midfielder Mason Mount has encountered another injury, potentially leading to a period of absence.
Mount, who previously missed five games this season due to injury, has faced challenges in regaining a spot in Ten Hag’s starting lineup. In the last six Premier League matches, he has come off the bench in four.

Ten Hag commented, “Mason picked up an issue, so we have to assess if he’s available for the game or not,” in an interview with club media on Friday.
Sources informed 90min that Mount will be unavailable for Sunday’s clash against Everton. However, United officials remain optimistic that the midfielder will make a comeback before the conclusion of the calendar year.
Mount is eager to stage a comeback for United before the close of 2023, aiming to avoid concluding the year without contributing a single goal or assist in the Premier League.
Ten Hag faces the challenge of missing key players such as Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, resulting in a shortage of numbers in the midfield department for United. The available first-team midfielders for the boss include Sofyan Amrabat, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, and Hannibal Mejbri.
There might be additional opportunities for 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo, who showcased his abilities in pre-season but saw his momentum halted by an injury. Mainoo, having made three appearances for England’s Under-19s during the international break, seems to have fully recovered.
