Despite Varane not being on Real Madrid’s current radar for a transfer, Saudi Arabian officials are reportedly gearing up for a summer bid and are optimistic about persuading Varane to make the move. Although Varane has not indicated any willingness to consider an offer from Saudi Arabia, the country’s Public Investment Fund, overseeing four top-tier teams, is confident in its ability to attract the interest of any player.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag confirmed the activation of extension clauses for Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Hannibal Mejbri during a recent press conference. Ongoing discussions with Varane and striker Anthony Martial, both facing contract expiration this summer, are also part of the club’s agenda.
While United is not expecting a busy January transfer window and is focused on outgoings, the possibility of signing a new forward remains if adequate funds can be generated. Al Ittihad and Al Nassr, prominent Saudi clubs, are reportedly eyeing Varane, but the player’s commitment would be crucial before any potential move.
