Manchester United legend and former French national team captain Patrice Evra has been sentenced to 12 months in prison with a suspended probation in France.
According to Olt Sports, Evra was convicted of family abandonment and is facing unpaid alimony totaling nearly €1 million.
Evra, celebrated for his illustrious career with Manchester United where he won 14 trophies, including five Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League, also had a distinguished international career with France. He represented his country in five major tournaments, including the UEFA European Championships and FIFA World Cup.

Following a brief stint with West Ham United in February 2018, Evra retired from professional football in July 2019. After retiring, he moved into coaching, joining Manchester United’s academy as a trainee coach.
Renowned for his speed, athleticism, and versatility, the 43-year-old was widely regarded as one of the top left-backs in Europe.
