Manchester United Announces New Coach Following Erik Ten Hag’s Sacking

Manchester United has confirmed the appointment of a new manager following the dismissal of Erik Ten Hag.

The Red Devils officially announced Ten Hag’s departure after a string of disappointing results. The Dutch manager struggled to lead the team to title contention this season, securing only three wins in his last nine games. As a result, the team currently sits in 14th place with just 11 points from those matches.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has been approved by the club’s hierarchy to assume control of the team.

In the official statement released by Manchester United, the club stated: “Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.”

Van Nistelrooy will serve as interim head coach, supported by the existing coaching staff, while the club searches for a permanent replacement.

The Manchester United legend joined Ten Hag’s coaching staff this summer after leaving his position at PSV. He will continue with the team alongside the other coaches until a new manager is appointed.
