Guardiola also expressed his unwavering confidence in his Manchester City players after they bounced back from consecutive defeats to secure a 3-1 victory against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. “Yes, but I’m not going to judge my team solely based on results. Both games against Newcastle and Wolves may not have produced the best performances, but it’s not easy when the opponent defends with ten players in the box – five players, four players, a striker, and a holding midfielder all defending in the box. It’s not an easy situation.

“Unfortunate incidents occurred, we weren’t sharp enough, and it happened. It’s part of the game, and I can understand it because we play many matches. However, if you think I’m going to doubt my players or doubt our prospects for this season just because we could have lost again today, then you’re mistaken. You’re not the right person to ask those questions.

“I have complete faith in these players, regardless of whether we win or lose, because I witness their dedication in training sessions and their strong mentality, and they consistently demonstrate it. Now, as we head to Arsenal, we’ll play our game, rest, and hopefully, as we approach March, April, May, we’ll remain competitive and close to the top of the competitions.

“I have a strong feeling that we won’t be an easy team to defeat.”
