Manchester City is nearing the completion of an agreement with 20-year-old forward Oscar Bobb for a new contract, as per information obtained by 90min.
Bobb, who joined the club from Valerenga in 2019, showcased his talents at the academy level with City and garnered interest from several European clubs this summer, including Atalanta, Lazio, and Union Berlin. However, City manager Pep Guardiola intervened, preventing Bobb’s departure and instead elevating him to the senior squad.
Since then, the Norway international has made seven appearances for the first team and earned his debut for the national team. A new contract is now in the works as a testament to Bobb’s progress.

Sources have confirmed to 90min that Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have expressed interest in Bobb, but City remains unperturbed. They are optimistic about concluding an extension in the coming weeks.
Bobb, content with life at City and enjoying his association with international teammate Erling Haaland, is eager to continue his development under Guardiola.
“[Guardiola] is a perfectionist, so we can always do better,” Bobb expressed to club media in November. “You see a new way to play the game and everything seems so simple.”
Guardiola has publicly pledged “a lot of minutes” to Bobb, who welcomes the competition for playing time among some of football’s most established stars.
“It’s very good motivation,” he remarked on the competition. “It’s the place where you want to be. It definitely motivates me.”
