However, Defensa Central claims that Ancelotti is willing to let Mendy go and that Real Madrid will take Mendy’s departure into consideration if a decent offer comes in.

According to the report, the sale of Mendy may be contingent on Los Blancos’ ability to outbid Man City and a number of other Premier League teams for the services of RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.

Pep Guardiola is reportedly eager to expand his options at left-back, and Man City are reportedly keeping a close eye on Mendy’s position in the capital of Spain.

Sergio Gomez was signed by the Citizens on a permanent basis when Oleksandr Zinchenko left for Arsenal in the summer, but the 22-year-old has had trouble getting regular first-team action, making only five substitute appearances in the Premier League.

Indeed, Guardiola’s first choice on the left side of the back four is Joao Cancelo, a right-back by trade, and Gomez may move further down the pecking order if City decide to bring in a new left-back.

Mendy is reportedly one of the candidates City is considering, although Real Madrid are not under any imminent pressure to sell the Frenchman since he has a deal with the Bernabeu through the summer of 2025.

Mendy has won six trophies during his career with Los Blancos, including two La Liga championships, one Champions League, two Spanish Super Cups, and one UEFA Super Cup.

In addition, it is believed that Man City is still interested in Raphael Guerreiro of Borussia Dortmund, who was mentioned as a possible replacement for Marc Cucurella, the top target from last summer.

Rayan Ait-Nouri of Wolverhampton Wanderers has also been linked to a move, with Guardiola reportedly a fan of the 21-year-old.

Maximo Perrone, a promising midfielder from Argentina, could be acquired by City in the upcoming January transfer window. According to one report, the Citizens are willing to trigger the midfielder’s ยฃ7.4 million release clause in his contract with Velez Sarsfield.
