According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United’s efforts to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite have encountered a hurdle. Everton has rejected both of United’s bids for the center-back this summer.
United’s most recent offer was £45 million plus an additional £5 million in add-ons, an increase from their initial £43 million bid last month, which was also turned down.
United is targeting two center-backs in this transfer window, but their plans may be complicated by Aston Villa’s nearing £50 million deal for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, as reported by The Athletic. If this deal goes through, Everton might be less inclined to part with Branthwaite.

Everton is likely to consider selling Branthwaite only if they receive a significant offer, potentially over £75 million, though no exact figure has been confirmed.
