According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are “discussing and considering” a move for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who is valued at £50 million.
The 24-year-old Brazilian played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s Europa League triumph over Bayer Leverkusen last season and has been linked with several Premier League clubs over the past year.
Newcastle United are also rumored to be keen on the midfielder, but Plettenberg suggests United could look to outpace the Magpies with a January bid.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Plettenberg stated:
“Manchester United are discussing and considering Ederson, a player highly valued internally. The club is seeking reinforcements in his position, possibly as early as the winter transfer window. The 25-year-old central midfielder is under contract with Atalanta Bergamo until 2027. One to watch.”
Ederson has made 18 appearances for Atalanta this season, contributing two goals and one assist as the club pushes for its first-ever Serie A title.
