Olusola Soneye, the state prosecutor, informed the court during the defendant’s arraignment that the offenses were committed between February 2022 and February 2023.

The two incidents happened at No. 2 Abose Street in the Lagos State neighborhood of Amuwo Odofin, Soneye told the court.

According to him, the victim was sexually assaulted by the defendant when he inappropriately touched her vagina with his hands.

Additionally, the prosecution informed the court that the defendant defiled the victim by inserting his penis into her vagina.

Soneye claims that the offenses were against Sections 263 and 137 of the Lagos State 2015 Criminal Law.

The accused, however, entered a not guilty plea to the charges that were preferred against him.

Judge Soladoye ruled that the defendant would be remanded in a correctional facility until he filed an application for bail after the defendant entered a not-guilty plea.

The case was postponed until January 17, 2023, when the trial was scheduled to begin.
