As previously disclosed in June, Suarez expressed a desire to reunite with former teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets in Florida. Despite initial intentions to make the move during the summer, Suarez remained bound by a contract with Brazilian side Gremio. The 36-year-old, whose deal with Gremio extends to 2024, activated a release clause, paving the way for his move to Inter Miami.

Sources have now confirmed that Suarez’s departure from Gremio will be followed by an official move to Inter Miami, with the announcement expected as the Primary Transfer Window opens on December 11.

The reunion of Jordi Alba, Busquets, Messi, and Suarez, who last played together in 2020 for FC Barcelona before Suarez’s move to Atletico Madrid, marks a significant moment. The quartet achieved remarkable success in La Liga, securing ten trophies, including three league titles and three Copas del Rey.

Now, they aim to make an impact in Major League Soccer, aspiring to secure Inter Miami’s first-ever league trophy. The team had previously claimed their maiden piece of silverware by winning the inaugural Leagues Cup tournament in 2023.
