Reports linking AC Milan to a potential move for Darwin Nunez have been dismissed, as Liverpool have received no approach from the Serie A club regarding the striker.
Nunez, who has made 23 appearances under manager Arne Slot—13 of them as a starter—continues to face scrutiny over his performances. He has slipped down the pecking order recently, with Luis Díaz excelling in the No. 9 role and Diogo Jota returning to the squad after a spell on the sidelines.
The Uruguayan forward has contributed four goals and three assists this season but has struggled to thrive under Slot’s system, which creates fewer opportunities for him. Frustration over his form has persisted, fueling speculation about his future.

Throughout December and into the January transfer window, Italian outlets have linked Nunez with a move to AC Milan, including reports of a loan deal with an obligation to buy in the summer.
However, according to The Mail’s Simon Jones, Liverpool have “heard nothing from the Italian giants” about Nunez and are “unlikely” to consider any transfer unless a suitable replacement is lined up. While Liverpool remain open to opportunistic moves in the market, offloading Nunez this month is not part of their plans.
This stance could change in the summer, especially with Federico Chiesa still working towards full fitness and Jota’s fitness influencing the team’s reliance on Nunez.
Italian outlet AC Milan TMN had claimed that Milan proposed a half-season loan with a summer purchase obligation of £37.4 million. Such a deal would mark a significant depreciation from the £85 million Liverpool paid Benfica in 2022.
For now, any serious discussions about Nunez’s future are expected to wait until the summer. Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s potential transfer to Real Madrid has taken center stage, with the Spanish club preparing a second bid after having their initial offer rejected.
