Liverpool surged to the top of the Premier League with a dominant 3-0 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield, thanks to a first-half blitz.

Goals from Luis Diaz and a stunning strike by Darwin Nunez gave the Reds a commanding lead by halftime, allowing them to comfortably see out the game and quickly recover from their shock defeat to Nottingham Forest in the previous match.

Bournemouth initially thought they had scored early when Antoine Semenyo finished a deflected Justin Kluivert cross in the fourth minute. However, a quick VAR check confirmed an offside, nullifying the goal.

This scare spurred Liverpool into action. Diaz, Mohamed Salah, and Nunez all tested Bournemouth goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga with quickfire shots, forcing sharp saves.

However, Kepaโ€™s decision to rush out for a ball he couldn’t reach in the 26th minute allowed Diaz to slot into an empty net, giving Liverpool the lead. Moments later, Diaz doubled the advantage, threading the ball through Kepaโ€™s legs from a tight angle after a pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Nunez sealed Liverpool’s first-half dominance by curling in a brilliant goal from the right side, leaving Bournemouth with little hope of a comeback.

The second half was quieter, with Liverpool controlling the pace. Salah and Curtis Jones had chances to extend the lead, while Bournemouth came close when they hit the bar late in the game after a scramble at a corner.

Ultimately, Liverpool cruised to an easy victory, securing a vital three points and a spot at the top of the table.
