However, several roommates have dispelled this myth by taking their relationship beyond the house to the next level.
The following are two marriages that occurred in the Big Brother Naija house.
Teddy A and BamBam
Teddy Adenibuyan, often known as Tope Adenibuyan, was one of the Big Brother Naija 2018 housemates.
He was born in the United States. He was accepted into the BBN program and stayed in the house for 9 weeks. During his time in the home, he was able to attract a large number of followers as well as meet his true love, BamBam.
Bambam, whose full name is Oluwabamike Olawumi, is an Ogun State-based actress, singer, and voice-over artist.
During their time in the house, BamBam and Teddy had an extremely expressive friendship.
They both confirmed their engagement on August 4th, 2019.
Their traditional wedding took held in BamBam’s hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.
They later married in a star-studded wedding in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
They were the first housemates to start a relationship in the house and marry after they left.
Gedoni and Khafi
Gedoni is a Nigerian fashion entrepreneur who goes by the moniker Ekpata Gedoni. After competing in Big Brother Naija Season 4 Pepper Dem Gang Edition, he became a reality TV celebrity.
It was here that he first encountered Khafi. Khafi was born in Nigeria’s Ekiti State but now lives in the United Kingdom. She works for the Metropolitan Police Service in the United Kingdom. She joined the force as a constable in 2015.
The connection between Gedoni and Khafi in Big Brother Naija season 4 created a lot of controversy. This was due to the fact that viewers believed Khafi and Gedoni were having an affair in the house. Both parties refuted it, and Khafi’s job as a UK police officer was almost jeopardized as a result.
Khafi announced her engagement to Gedoni after they both left the BBN house. After a year, they married each other.
On the 24th of September 2020, they married in the Ikoyi register.
