“I’m not planning to become a manager when I retire,” he told Fabrizio Romano. “This is not something I’m considering.”
Messi noted that he understands how others, like former French star Zinedine Zidane, have changed their minds about management, but for now, he is more interested in a behind-the-scenes role, such as a sporting director. This would allow him to maintain the privacy he values after his time with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Inter Miami.
