In May 2022, Kylian Mbappe signed a record-breaking contract with PSG, surpassing Lionel Messi to become the highest-paid player in the world.

The largest contract in football history is thought to have been signed by Mbappe with the French Ligue 1 powerhouses.

According to information from the leaked reports, Paris Saint-Germain is committed to paying Kylian Mbappe £546 million after he terminated all negotiations to join Real Madrid in May.

The French Ligue 1 winners and Kylian Mbappe agreed to a three-year contract deal, extending his time at the organization through 2025.

According to reports, French President Emmanuel Macron personally persuaded the French singer to extend his contract with Paris in order to remain there.

The contract’s specifics, however, have further shown that Mbappe signed a two-year agreement rather than a three-year one.

The extra year was reportedly optional, thus the deal for the 23-year-old will end in 2024.

Mbappe frequently expressed his affection for the Los Blancos and was rumored to be interested in joining the La Liga powerhouses.

To prevent the transfer to Real Madrid, PSG pulled the trigger and gave the talented youth equal input into club decisions and policies.

Mbappe ultimately decided to devote his future to the team, but that decision was questioned when shocking rumors that he planned to quit in January surfaced.

According to the allegation, which surfaced earlier this month, the French star is unhappy with the team and is trying to leave.

Le Parisien, a French publication, reported that after the terms of Mbappe’s contract were revealed, there would be severe financial repercussions for PSG if he did press for a transfer.

Apparently, Mbappe’s contract with PSG will pay him a staggering €640 million over the course of the next three years, surpassing Messi’s €555 million payout from Barcelona in 2017.

Neymar is another top earner at the team; during the course of his six-year contract, the former Barcelona forward will receive €267 million, a much smaller sum than Mbappe is entitled to.

The breakdown of Mbappe’s contract information revealed that his monthly salary is €6 million.

After taxes, the amount is said to fall to €2.7 million. Even if he leaves early, his €180 million sign-on bonus will still be paid to him in three installments each July.

The deal conditions also contain a loyalty bonus of €70 million, which will be paid at the conclusion of each season and increase by €10 million each season if he stays at Parc des Princes.

For Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe is a productive and elite football player. In his 15 games thus far in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, he has scored 14 goals and provided two assists.

PSG leads Group H in the Champions League after four games and is five points clear atop Ligue 1.

At this point in football history, PSG’s financial commitment to the French star is still viewed as ridiculous to some extent.
