The late Gbenga Adeboye, popularly known as ‘Funwontan,’ has been posthumously honored with an award at the recently concluded Nigerian Comedy Award.

The event took place at the Eko Convention Center in the Victoria Island area of Lagos.

The posthumous award was received on behalf of the late Gbenga Adeboye by his daughter, Damilola Gbenga Adeboye.

In her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude to God and the event organizers for honoring her late father’s legacy in the comedy industry. It’s a touching tribute to a beloved comedian.

Gbenga Adeboye was a Nigerian singer, comedian, radio presenter, broadcaster and master of ceremony.

He died of kidney-related diseases on 30 April 2003.
