In a significant development within the Lagos State Football Association, the chairman has been suspended due to alleged misconduct.
Reportedly, five out of nine board members voted in favor of suspending the chairman, Ogboni Fouad Oki, while four supported him.
Under the leadership of LSFA Vice Chairman Alhaji Liameed Olawale Gafar, the board members released a statement to the media on Tuesday, detailing the violations committed by Oki that were in breach of the NFF’s laws and regulations.

Gafar stated that Oki’s actions, including his absence from the NFF Congress without providing any justification or informing the LSFA Board, were in violation of the NFF statutes.
The chairman was also accused of altering the association’s logo without obtaining consent from the board or Congress. Additionally, he reportedly obstructed the use of A1 cameras for testing by representatives of the Nigerian Professional League (NPFL) before the league commenced.
Furthermore, it was noted that Oki had released logistics for match days in the 2023-2024 NNL season to NNL clubs without consulting the board.
The conflict between Oki and the Lagos State Sports Commission regarding the utilization of facilities, which disrupted their previously harmonious relationship, was also brought to light.
Gafar emphasized that the board members decided to suspend Oki for his alleged interference with and suspension of several youth football competitions and recreational games, as well as for his threats to have teams leave Lagos.
