In a revealing interview with ‘Envoyé Spécial,’ Mbappé’s mother, Fayza Lamari, shed light on her clashes with the PSG star over his finances.

A portion of Mbappé’s monthly earnings is allocated to ‘Inspired by KM,’ a charitable association aimed at assisting 98 children in realizing their life projects. Launched earlier this year on January 20, the initiative underscores Mbappé’s commitment to making a positive impact off the field.

Lamari disclosed that she demanded Kylian donate a significant portion of his salary, threatening to stop working for him if he didn’t comply. She recalled, “I told him: ‘I don’t do anything below 30%! I’ll retire and do what everyone else does, go on holiday to the Maldives, but I won’t work for you!'”

This negotiation wasn’t without its challenges. Initially proposing a 50% contribution, Fayza and Kylian eventually settled on 30% after extensive discussions.

Reflecting on the ‘Envoyé Spécial’ report, Lamari admitted her initial expectations were higher, stating, “At first, I told him it would be 50%, but we talked about it and he settled at 30%.”

Beyond financial matters, the interview also delved into Kylian Mbappé’s thoughts on fame. The French skipper expressed a yearning for the simplicity of everyday life, lamenting the loss of spontaneity that comes with celebrity status.

Mbappé’s stellar 2023-24 season with PSG saw him netting 26 goals and providing seven assists in 28 Ligue 1 appearances.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Mbappé has already reached personal terms with Real Madrid and is expected to earn less than his PSG salary, with a major announcement anticipated after the 2023-24 Champions League final.
