With United leading 3-1 and only five minutes of regular time remaining, late goals from Max Kilman and Pedro Neto leveled the score at 3-3 by the 95th minute. Mainoo’s decisive strike, coming right after, saw him navigate past two Wolves players in a tight space and find the far bottom corner from 18 yards.
In an interview with TNT Sports on the pitch after the final whistle, Mainoo expressed his elation, stating, “It’s a dream come true. I’ve still not come down from it and still feel like I’m dreaming, to be honest. You’ll have to give me a second.”

Despite not turning 19 until April, Mainoo has already made 12 first-team appearances this season, starting in the last eight consecutive games across all competitions. He highlighted the joy of playing for his boyhood club and emphasized his desire to secure a consistent run of games and build momentum.
United captain Bruno Fernandes, who joined Mainoo during the interview, mentioned that the young midfielder had caught the club’s attention long ago. “I’ve seen him playing for the Under-18s, maybe two or three years ago, and I said Kobbie’s name to a friend who was in Manchester and wanted to see some youth games, without knowing that he was going to become this player,” Fernandes explained.
