Six ISWAP terrorists are said to have been killed by Nigerian Army troops, and 78 hostages held in the Gamborun Ngala region of Borno State have been freed.
Top security expert in Northern Nigeria, Zagazola Makama, released a statement on Friday stating that the operation was executed by troops from 7 Division and Sector 1 Operation Hadin Kai.
Makama gathered information that on Thursday, November 9, 2023, the troops, working with the men of the Civilian Joint Task Force, naturalized the terrorists at the villages of Gime and Muzuri.

Makama also cited intelligence sources stating that the troops saved 78 people, including 30 women and 48 children, from the terrorists’ stronghold and took possession of several AK-47 rifles and three Dane guns.
Makama stated, “However, on the way back from the operation, an improvised explosive device explosion occurred at Gulwa involving a Hilux vehicle carrying the Civilian Joint Task Force.”
He continued by saying that as a result, some of the group’s commanders were hurt and two of them died.
