Kieran Trippier sends a message to Manchester United after the Carabao Cup final

Following the Carabao Cup final, Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier sent his greetings to Manchester United.

Manchester United won 2-0 at Wembley to win the first domestic championship of the year.

Even while reaching the championship game was a victory in and of itself for Newcastle, losing still hurts.

The goals were scored by Casemiro and Marcus Rashford, with the second one going to the English striker after first being credited as an own goal.

Trippier congratulated Manchester United

In his post-game speech, Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier thanked Manchester United and expressed grace in defeat.

“I think we gave everything today, sadly it wasn’t enough,” the defender posted on Instagram. Best wishes to Manchester United. On a personal note, I want to thank the @nufc fans for their wonderful support today. I’m grateful.

Trippier could have easily played for Manchester United. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the team targeted him, but Atletico Madrid rejected any offers.

With Diogo Dalot playing the first 45 minutes and Aaron Wan-Bissaka playing the second half after the Portuguese defender received a caution, both of Manchester United’s right backs performed admirably at Wembley.
