Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho explained his decision to join La Liga side Sevilla FC despite having other offers.
The 26-year-old had been a free agent since leaving Leicester City at the end of his contract. Even though other clubs were interested, Iheanacho was quick to accept Sevilla’s offer.
“There were offers from many clubs, but I was very clear that I wanted to come here,” he told Sevilla TV. “Sevilla had a clear vision for what they wanted from me and why they brought me in. The football environment and everything about the club made my decision easy. I’m ready to embrace this opportunity and give it my all.”

He added, “My goals are not just personal; the most important thing is the team. Together, we can achieve great things this season. We need to give 100% in every game, stay focused, and keep pushing. Hopefully, we’ll climb the table and go far this season.”
Iheanacho signed a two-year contract with Sevilla, with an option for an additional year.
