The Katsina State Police Command has foiled a suspected kidnapping attempt at Gogalo village, in the Jibia Local Government Area of the state and rescued three victims.

This was contained in a statement on Monday in  by the spokesman for the command, ASP Aliyu Abubakar-Sadiq.

The statement read, “On November 11, around 10.46 pm, information was received at the Jibia Divisional Police Station that  bandits wielding weapons such as  AK-47 rifle, shooting sporadically, attacked the village and kidnapped three persons.

“A search and rescue squad was dispatched to the scene by Divisional Police Officer Jibia as soon as she received this report.

The group didn’t stop combing the nearby bushes until November 12. After locating the alleged kidnappers at around six in the morning, the crew engaged them in a gunfight.

“Every person who had been abducted was successfully freed without incident. While the inquiry continues, efforts are being made to apprehend the suspects who are running.
