Benzema reportedly declined Emmanuel Macron’s invitation to fly on his private plane and watch the final, which France lost 4-2 on penalties following an incredible 3-3 draw.

It is well known that Benzema and manager Didier Deschamps had a falling out, but he also doesn’t seem to get along well with many of his teammates.

Only the former Lyon striker’s Real colleagues Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Raphael Varane, Kylian Mbappe, and Marcus Thuram are still being followed, according to MARCA.

While controversial celebrity chef and World Cup final gatecrasher Salt Bae is still on his feed, he continues to follow his former boss Zinedine Zidane, who is widely thought to be in the running to succeed Deschamps.

For his alleged involvement in a sex tape scandal involving Mathieu Valbuena, Benzema was banned from the national team for five years. He later returned and finished as the tournament’s top scorer.

He has, however, made the decision to end his international career in light of France’s defeat in the World Cup final. Benzema posted on Instagram, saying: “I’ve worked hard and made the mistakes necessary to be where I am now, and I’m happy of it! My story is over, and ours comes to a close.

The 35-year-old made 97 appearances for his nation and scored 37 goals.
