According to a recent report, Jose Mourinho is prepared to join Bayern Munich as the head coach and has already begun learning German in anticipation of a potential offer. Currently without a managerial position after his recent departure from Roma, Mourinho’s two-and-a-half-year tenure in the Italian capital included leading the team to victory in the inaugural Europa Conference League in 2022 but fell short of securing Champions League qualification.

Despite recent links to a return to Chelsea, 90min suggests that Mourinho is unlikely to make a comeback at Stamford Bridge. Instead, a new opportunity may arise for the Portuguese coach.

The pressure on Thomas Tuchel at Bayern has intensified following their 3-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, leaving the reigning champions five points behind Xabi Alonso’s leading team in the Bundesliga.

According to BILD, Mourinho, who has previously expressed interest in the Bayern job, is actively learning German and is keen on taking on the role at the Allianz Arena. While Mourinho has managed clubs in Portugal, England (Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur), Spain (Real Madrid), and Italy (Inter and Roma), a coaching stint in Germany has not been part of his distinguished career.

Last month, 90min reported that Mourinho could receive offers from Al Ahli and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr, given his openness to the possibility of managing in Saudi Arabia. He had declined a £30m-a-year offer from Al Hilal last year.

Additionally, there’s speculation about Mourinho trying his hand at international management, with potential opportunities emerging after the European Championships and Copa America this summer. Mourinho is reportedly open to taking charge of the England national team if Gareth Southgate departs.
