Following a deadly traffic accident in the Jigawa State town of Kwanar Gujungu, at least 11 people have been officially declared deceased.
In a statement, which PUNCH Metro was able to obtain on Sunday, DSP Lawan Shiitu Adam, the public relations officer for the Jigawa State Police, verified the occurrence.
According to him, the accident occurred on Saturday when a head-on collision between a Honda LE and a Golf Wagon resulted in the immediate deaths of all 11 occupants of both vehicles.

All eleven people died in the crash, which occurred on Saturday. A Honda L.E. Ash in color with registration number NSR 469 AE carrying five passengers from Kano to Balangu town, Kafin Hausa LGA, and a Golf Wagon carrying four passengers from Gujungu to Taura LGA with registration number AUY 292 XA collided head-on.
“A group of police officers from the Taura Divisional Police Headquarters’s Motor Traffic Department responded quickly to the report’s receipt, transporting the bodies to the General Hospital, where a physician pronounced them dead,” the statement read.
He stated that the command has sent condolences to the families of the deceased and begged to Allah Ta’ala for forgiveness on behalf of Commissioner of Police AT Abdullahi.
