During the burial ceremony, Nollywood actor Alhaji Oluwole Cole, popularly known as Baraka, revealed some intriguing information regarding the death of Murphy Afolabi. Baraka stated that the bathroom tiles were not the cause of Murphy’s slip.
Instead, Baraka explained that Murphy experienced dizziness, which ultimately resulted in his untimely demise. He further elaborated by mentioning that a few days prior, during the birthday celebration of Fuji singer Malaika, Murphy had complained of feeling weak while they were running errands together.
After celebrating his own birthday, Murphy battled malaria for two to three days. On the unfortunate day of his passing, he was not feeling well. Baraka disclosed that Murphy had called for a nurse to provide treatment at his home and had consumed pap (a local meal) before heading to the bathroom, where he encountered dizziness and slipped.

“At Malaika’s birthday party, Murphy and I were doing some running around when he complained he was feeling weak and he was told to sit down and rest. After Murphy celebrated his birthday, he had malaria for like 2-3 days. On the fateful day that he died. He wasn’t feeling too good and he called a nurse to come home and give him some injections. Afterward drank pap and went to the bathroom. In the bathroom, he started feeling dizzy and he fell. It wasn’t the tiles of the bathroom that slipped him. He fell as a result of the dizziness and that was it”.
