The Onwubiko Anagor family, who reside in the Ubaruisionye Nando community in the Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, has petitioned Justice Onochie Anyachelu, the Chief Judge of Anambra State, requesting a thorough and intensive investigation into the claims of nine accused individuals regarding the alleged murder of their son, Christian Onwubiko Anagor.
The family’s two-page appeal, which was sent to the Chief Judge by attorney Joseph Odo through the deceased man’s brother Kenneth Anagor, was made available to media on Tuesday.
The family claimed in the appeal that the deceased was murdered on September 19, 2021, without being molested, in Ubaruisionye village, Nando, in the Anambra East Local Government Area, Anambra State.

They further stated that nine suspects—names withheld—who had been detained in relation to the murder had subsequently been freed by the police as a result of a “faulty report on the matter without full investigation.”
“We demand further and fuller investigation as the information report is faulty and created to free the culprits,” reads the petition’s title. “Re: Investigation into the murder of Christian Onwubiko Anagor.”
The text of the plea was as follows: “We humbly request, Sir, that the individuals who are accused of being involved in the murder and assassination of Christian Onwubiko Anagor on September 19, 2021, not be detained or brought before the Otuocha High Court (OT/33C/2022) as of yet.
The case has been brought before the Otuocha Judicial Division High Court under suit number OT/33C/2022.
We are pleading with you, Sir, to order your uncorruptible employees to carry out this assignment. Previously, all attempts were typically met with resistance because the murderers had a sizable money reserve that they could use to bribe and force them to compromise.
We want thorough investigation into the matter to enable the prosecution to conclude the matter and prosecute the culprits.”
The petition was copied to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and the Anambra State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Sylvia Ifemeje.
