Ahead of their Champions League quarter-final clash with Bayern Munich, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has cautioned his teammates to “respect” Harry Kane.
The Bundesliga champions are set to visit London for the first leg of the tie against the Gunners following a defeat to newly-promoted Heidenheim on Saturday.
Despite this, Kane has showcased exceptional form in his debut season at Bayern, tallying 38 goals in 37 games along with 12 assists.

When asked about the prospect of facing Kane, Odegaard emphasized the importance of respect while maintaining that fear should not be a factor. He stressed the need for Arsenal to concentrate on their own strengths, stating, “I think we should respect him, but I don’t think we should fear anyone. And we should focus on ourselves and the quality we have in our team, and that is all.”
Acknowledging Kane’s prowess, Odegaard highlighted his goal-scoring ability and contribution to link-up play. He acknowledged the challenge posed by Kane and emphasized the need for Arsenal to prepare for a formidable opponent on Tuesday.
Having faced Kane numerous times during his tenure at Tottenham, Odegaard is aware of the threat the striker poses, having scored 14 goals in 19 matches against Arsenal during his time at Spurs.
