Former French defender William Gallas remains unconvinced about Mikel Arteta’s strategy for Kai Havertz, despite the player’s recent impressive performances.
Havertz joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a £65 million deal during the summer. Initially, he faced challenges justifying the significant transfer fee and winning over the fans. However, the German has gradually solidified his position as a crucial member of the Gunners’ squad.
Despite Havertz’s recent run of seven goals in all competitions, Gallas remains skeptical. In an interview with Lord Ping, Gallas remarked, “Even though he’s been scoring in his recent games, I’m not convinced that he’ll have a standout season. What defines a great season for him? Last season, he scored 7 goals for Chelsea. Considering the price they paid for him, he needs to score 15 goals this season, but I don’t believe he’ll reach that tally.”
