Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has expressed confidence that his club can secure both the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles this season. Ibrahimovic, who made his return to the squad in Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Newcastle, believes that under Jose Mourinho, United can close the gap on league leaders Manchester City.
Currently, Manchester United is in second place, trailing City by 8 points. In the Champions League, United have won all four of their group stage matches and need just one point from their remaining two games to advance to the knockout stage. Their next fixture is against FC Basel on Wednesday.
Ibrahimovic told British media that aiming for both domestic and European titles is a realistic goal. “I think there is a possibility for everything. We are stronger this season. We believe we can do it—that’s the aim. To win and get the trophies,” he said.

He also expressed optimism about closing the gap on City: “I think we can chase City; why is it not a possibility?”
He praised the manager, stating, “This week, the manager has been very happy because he has a full team. He knows what he is doing, even when the number of players is limited, because he’s a winner and has been winning every season.”
