Toyin Abraham, a well-known Nollywood actress, has posed a difficult topic to which we must respond.
Although many of her fans mistake her for a Yoruba woman due to her accent and appearances in Yoruba films, the movie star is an indigene of Auchi, Edo State.
In a recent video shared on her verified Instagram page on Thursday, April 14th, 2022, she clarified the truth. She claimed to be from Edo State, but that she was born and raised in Oyo State, namely Ibadan.

In the video, the movie star said, “There is a question that has been bothering me, and I want to as because I don’t understand. You all know I’m from Edo State but I was born and brought up in Ibadan, and I got married to a Yoruba man, who is from Oyo State, Ogbomosho to be precise.”
She continued, “I think in the future, I want to go into politics, but can I contest in Oyo state? Since I was born and brought up in Ibadan Oyo State and my husband is also from Oyo State, does it mean I am from Oyo State?
I need answers, please answer me.”
Lots of her fans reacted to the post and a majority of them affirmed that she can actually contest in Oyo State.
