Mama Rainbow, also known as Nollywood actress Idowu Phillips, has responded to the passing of her coworker Charles Olumo “Agbako.”

On Thursday, Gossipinfo revealed that Nollywood had declared the veteran actor’s passing. Through the page of its president, Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr. Latin, the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria, TAMPAN, confirmed his passing. Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr. Latin stated that the veteran, who was 101 years old, passed away on Thursday.

In a video captured online, Mama Rainbow had visited the deceased’s house as she shared her last conversation with him. She revealed that he called on Saturday to say he had returned from the hospital and she had asked him if she should send him money for his medication, but he told her to hold on.

Mama Rainbow said she never knew his death was near as she expressed joy that he didn’t die shamefully.

“I thank God he didn’t die shamefully. He called me on Saturday to say he was back from the hospital, and I asked him if I should send money for his medication, but he told me to hold on. I didn’t know his death was near”.

Just months before his death, Kunle Afod had been left in awe after visiting the actor. Taking to his Instagram page to share a video of his visit to the actor, he revealed that he visited to check up on the veteran, who was in good spirits, as he was seen jumping as he showed Kunle how agile he was.

Impressed, Kunle stated that the veteran was still strong and healthy, despite his age, as he prayed that he experience such grace.


Recall that when the late actor turned 100 last year, Biola Bayo and lovers of the actor had surprised him on his birthday. She revealed that she had sent her widow’s mite to the veteran and urged her fans to do the same and celebrate him while he is still alive.

Muyiwa Ademola, on his part, made an urgent demand of the Guinness World Records to issue a certificate to Charles Olumo.
