The report of the Special Investigation Panel on the alleged indictment of Abba Kyari, the controversial Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team, by the Federal Bureau of Investigation was received by the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, on Tuesday.
DIG Joseph Egbunike, the chairman of the SIP, presented the report to the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.

Frank Mba, the force’s spokesman, verified this in a statement.
โThe report submitted is the result of a meticulous, transparent, and exhaustive investigative process,โ Mba said, adding that the panel began investigating as soon as it was established on August 2.
He went on to say that the report included the probe’s case file, evidence and findings, as well as testimonials from Kyari and other people and groups involved in the case.
โThe IGP, who congratulated the panel for its work, remarked that the purpose of the probe was to conduct distinct investigations into the charge levelled against the officer so that the Force leadership could be adequately directed in its decision-making processes,โ according to the release.
โThe IGP guaranteed that the Force Management Team will conduct a thorough and timely evaluation of the recommendations before forwarding them to the appropriate quarters for implementation (s). He reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to achieving justice for all.โ
