Odunayo, a young Nigerian girl who was saved from homelessness and enrolled in junior school, recently completed her first exam.
While she was selling fish on the streets of Lagos, Odunayo was saved by the kindness of Tunde Onakoya. According to Tunde, Odunayo and her brother were saved two years ago when they were hawking instead of attending school.
He described how Odunayo had endured numerous waves of abuse because she was unable to enrol in school. “I made a vow to be a part of people’s life and keep them safe forever on this day,” Tunde recalled.

Later, he fully supported a scholarship to support her studies, and two years later, he revealed Odunayo’s progress on his Twitter account. He continued, “Today marks exactly two years since I first encountered Odunayo, who was selling fish alongside her younger brother on the streets of Majidun Ikorodu. Although a lot has changed since then, she finished her first year of school and passed her exams two weeks ago.
She is now developing into a young, self-assured lady who enjoys playing video games and chess, he continued.
Odunayo is particularly engaged in the arts, and both her school and church have busy cultural dance clubs. According Tunde, her desire is to be an Actress.
He asked prominent Nigerian actor Lateef Oladimeji to go see Odunayo and reassure her that her aspirations were real.
